This estimate uses the actual QR density and frame size, a 0.4 mm module target, and a 10:1 distance-to-symbol-width rule of thumb. It is a planning aid, not a scan guarantee. Artwork size includes the border, frame and caption. These settings do not resize downloaded files or print sheets.

Choose a destination you can maintain

Paste a complete HTTPS address, including the correct path. Open it in a private browser window first: a menu, booking form or document that works only while you are signed in will also cause problems for people scanning your print.

For a changing menu, encode a stable page you control, such as https://example.com/menu, and update that page when dishes change. The address inside an already printed static QR cannot be edited here.

Check the whole journey

Scan the exported image with a phone and check the actual address before opening it.
Confirm the page loads on mobile data, without your saved login.
Complete the intended task, such as viewing the menu or finding the booking button.

A passed scan check confirms the decoded content matches your input. It does not test whether a website is available, safe or usable.

Print a useful fallback

Add a caption explaining the destination and print a short readable address beside the code. Keep the clear border intact. Use SVG when a printer needs scalable artwork, or export a sufficiently large PNG. Proof the final physical size using Print options & size guidance.

What happens later?

We do not add an expiring redirect or a scan counter. A downloaded code continues to contain the same address, but domains, hosting, access permissions and third-party links can change. Assign someone to check the destination periodically and before reusing old artwork.
