Privacy and browser storage

Updated

QR content and images

The generator, bulk generator and image reader process QR content and images in your browser. These tools do not upload the supplied QR content to an image-generation or decoding service. The resulting QR image contains the information you entered; anyone who obtains it may be able to read that information.

Designs, projects and preferences

Saved designs use local browser storage and can contain colours, styles, logos and captions. Saved projects also contain the QR content and print label. Project saving requires a permission checkbox and stores the content unencrypted in that browser profile. Do not save passwords or private details on a shared profile. Delete individual entries through the relevant library, or remove all stored site data in your browser. These libraries are not synced or backed up by this website.

We also store your optional-analytics choice locally for up to 180 days. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice may not persist between pages.

Optional Google Analytics

The homepage initially uses your browser's language preference to choose English, Spanish or Simplified Chinese. An explicit language choice is stored in the qr-language cookie for up to 180 days. Use the language selector to change it, or remove the cookie through your browser's site-data controls. We do not use your IP address to select a language.

Google Analytics is loaded only after you choose Allow analytics. You can continue using the generator after choosing Reject optional. The analytics configuration disables Google signals and advertising-personalisation signals and supplies page addresses without query strings or fragments. Analytics can still involve identifiers, cookies and connection information processed by Google; it is not a promise of anonymous browsing.

Use Privacy settings in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawing permission reloads the page to stop the loaded analytics tag. Cookies already created can be removed using your browser's site-data controls. See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google's privacy policy.

Website requests and contact messages

Loading the site sends normal connection information, such as IP address and browser headers, to the hosting infrastructure. Hosting and email configurations determine whether logs or message copies are retained. Contact us if you need details about a particular enquiry.

The contact form sends the details you submit through the site's configured email service so the operator can respond. Session and anti-forgery cookies, and the CAPTCHA used by the form, support its operation. Do not include QR passwords or other private information in a support message unless needed to explain your issue.

Advertising and external destinations

The current page templates do not load advertising tags. This analytics choice is not a certified advertising-consent platform. If advertising is introduced, the privacy disclosures and consent setup must be updated for the applicable providers and regions.

Scanning a QR that opens another website sends you to that website, which has its own data practices. The generator does not control those destinations.

Questions and requests

FreeQRCodeCreate is provided by Abaca Digital, identified in the site footer. Contact the site operator with privacy questions or a request relating to information you submitted. Local project data stays in your browser and must be managed there.
