This estimate uses the actual QR density and frame size, a 0.4 mm module target, and a 10:1 distance-to-symbol-width rule of thumb. It is a planning aid, not a scan guarantee. Artwork size includes the border, frame and caption. These settings do not resize downloaded files or print sheets.

Prepare a message recipient

Enter the recipient phone number, with its country code where appropriate, without an sms: prefix. The generator adds that prefix. This page has a single content field; it does not offer a separate pre-filled-message editor.

A compatible scanner may open a messaging draft. The person scanning still decides what to write and whether to send. Messaging support depends on the device and installed apps.

Test with the intended audience

Scan the exported QR on a phone that can send SMS.
Confirm that the recipient number appears correctly.
Check that a message can be composed; send a test only when you intend to contact that number.
Print the number and purpose beside the QR so people have a fallback.

The scan checker does not contact the number or check delivery. Normal provider charges may apply.

Avoid promising an automatic subscription

A QR that opens a draft does not register a person for alerts, confirm consent or manage unsubscribe requests. Those processes need a separate service and appropriate disclosures. Use a public service number rather than exposing a private number on widely distributed materials.
